Kelt 7.60 gooseneck model and rigging outhaul/reefing lines?

gandalf
Hello!

I'm working on replacing the broken cams in the gooseneck of my Kelt 7.60 and had a couple of quick questions:

- Do you use the original cams within the gooseneck to control your outhaul and reefing lines at the mast, or have you rigged hardware to lead some or all of these lines back to the cockpit? If the latter, would love to see pictures of your set ups!

- Does anyone know what models of boom and gooseneck are on the 1983 Kelt 7.60? Based on RigRite, I had assumed the boom was an Isomat NB-16. The aluminum outhaul assembly on my boat matches the pictures on RigRite, but my gooseneck looks slightly different from the "old" style. I ordered replacement cams from RigRite (Old-Style Gooseneck Cam – Old Style: NB1-14X), but they appear to be too wide for the slot. Advice from those who have replaced their cams would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!

Ok! I contacted RigRite and they provided some helpful info. At their suggestion, I ultimately ended up grinding down the cams until they fit in the gooseneck.

According to RigRite, my boom (Canadian-built, 1983 Kelt 7.60) was made by Cinkel Spars. Cinkel started as a Canadian Isomat importer, but at some point diverged from Isomat and started making their own stuff. The boom section itself appears to match the dimensions of the Isomat NB-16 boom section, but the hardware, particularly the gooseneck assembly (photo below), is Cinkel, not Isomat.

The folks at RigRite mentioned that almost none of the Cinkel hardware is still available, lol

Cheers,
